I'm a graduate student in the Statistics department. I am interested in brain imaging, a field where statistics plays a central role. Neuroimaging is a multi-disciplinary field where in addition to using statistical algorithms and data analysis techniques, I hope to apply my training in physics, mathematics, computer science and electrical engineering. My advisor is Dr. Paul Thompson at the UCLA Laboratory of Neuroimaging (LONI).

Prior to UCLA, I worked as an engineer in Silicon Valley at AMD, IDT, Cadence and Maxtor. My work experience spans the full spectrum of the computer industry- from silicon wafer to application software with most of the steps in between.

I have a M.S. in Physics from Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute and an A.B. (yes, it's in Latin) in Physics and Math from Smith College. When I was 16, I won a scholarship to attend a very special high school. I have lived in the United States ever since and am a naturalized citizen.
