Introduction
Currently the department has two computer enabled learning facilities. The
Instructional Computing Lab is used for undergraduate course
labs, open labs, and special events. The Learning
Resources Center is used for study hours and question and answer sessions.

Open Lab: Between the hours of 8 AM and 5 PM, when it is
not being used for instruction, the lab is available for Statistics students
to do their statistics work. Theses times are designated as 'Open Lab' in
the schedules linked above. Note: Occassionally 'Open
Lab' times will be booked with events. See the Scheduled Events
section for dates and times when 'Open Labs' will be interrupted. The
labs are closed weekends.

Purpose
- The Statistics Department's Instructional Computing Lab provides a computer
enabled learning environment for students enrolled in undergraduate Statistics
courses. The Lab is dedicated to demonstrating the value of statistical thinking,
providing deeper intuitive understanding of statistical concepts, providing
an understanding of the entire process of analyzing data, and instilling a
more positive attitude towards Statistics. For our faculty, the Lab provides
an environment to develop and implement electronic teaching media and to integrate
computer-intensive, data-driven analyses into their courses.

Open Lab: Students enrolled in a Statistics course are
invited to use the Learning Resource Center to do work or study for their
Statistics courses. The times at which the lab is available are updated
frequently, see the Current
Term Schedule and the Next
Term Schedule. Note: the closing
times may be earlier by 15 minutes due to lab assistants needing to get
to their classes.
