UCLA Statistics Visitor Application Checklist:

To apply to UCLA Statistics as a visiting scholar, please send a letter by email to visitors@stat.ucla.edu.  Address your letter to the "UCLA Statistics Visitors Committee", and attach your CV. In your application letter, you must include the following information:

  1. Proposed date of arrival at UCLA.
  2. Proposed date of departure from UCLA.
  3. Proposed faculty sponsor at UCLA.
  4. Proposed research topic while here at UCLA.
  5. Do you need official status with the University?  Do you need an official letter of invitation?
  6. If you would be visiting from a different country, please indicate under which visa you intend to be here.
  7. Please note that we unfortunately cannot offer teaching, salary, or housing to visitors at this time.  We usually offer our visitors simply a desk and chair in a shared office.  Please list any other specific needs you would have while here at UCLA.
  8. For applying form DS2019 and J-1 visa, we need a copy of the photograph page of your passport and a letter from the organization who will be funding your visit.
