The text can be found in the "Stat" textbook area of the Ackerman bookstore.

GRADING: Homework 20%, Midterm 25%, Final 55%.

Attendance in section and in lecture is not mandatory and is not counted as part of the grade.

EXAMS: Midterm is Friday, Nov 9, in class (Haines 220).
Final is Wednesday, Dec 12, 3-6pm.

For each of the exams, students may use a calculator and one (double-sided) page of HANDWRITTEN notes only. No books. There will be no make-up exams. Students who are unable to take an exam must consult with the instructor in advance. Those who cannot take an exam because of an emergency must meet with the instructor to make special arrangements.
Students with learning disabilities must consult with the instructor by Oct 10 if special arrangements are required.

Cheating will absolutely not be tolerated. Anyone caught cheating will be subject to appropriate University disciplinary action. All exam problems are to be solved independently, as well as all homework problems.

Homework will be assigned each week and must be turned in each Friday morning at 11am, BEFORE LECTURE. Homeworks may be submitted early by sliding them under my office door, Math-Science 6167. Homework assignments may NOT be submitted by email. Homeworks will be given scores between 0 and 10. Those submitted to me on Friday between 11:05am and 11:15am will be given a one-point deduction. Those turned in between Friday 11:15am and Friday 12:05pm will be given a 2 point deduction. Those turned in between Friday 12:05pm and Friday 1pm will be given a 5 point deduction. NO HOMEWORKS will be accepted at all after Friday, 1pm. Students must do all the homework assignments independently. Each student's lowest hw score is dropped.
