EXAMS: Midterm is Friday May 5, in class.
Final is Thursday, June 15, 11:30am-2:30pm.
For the midterm exam, students may use a calculator and
one page (double-sided) of notes only.
For the final exam, students may use a calculator and
two pages (double-sided) of notes only. No books. Any necessary tables
will be supplied for you. Students must bring a Photo ID to both exams.
There will be no make-up exams. Students who are
unable to take an exam must consult with the instructor in advance. Those
who cannot take an exam because of an emergency must meet with the
instructor to make special arrangements.
Students with learning disabilities must consult with the instructor by
Apr 14 if special arrangements are required.
Cheating will absolutely not be tolerated. All homework and exam problems
are to be solved independently. Anyone caught cheating will automatically
get an F, and appropriate University disciplinary action will be invoked.

HOMEWORK:
Homework will be assigned each week and must be turned in each
Friday at 11am, BEFORE LECTURE. Homeworks may be submitted early, at any
time, by sliding them under my office door, Math-Science 8965.
Homework assignments may NOT be submitted by email or fax.
Homeworks will be given scores
between 0 and 10, and will be returned to students
in section the next week.
The lowest homework grade for each student will not be counted.
Those turned in on Friday between 11:05am and 11:10am
will be given a one-point deduction.
Those turned in between Friday 11:10am and 11:20am will be given a 2-point
deduction. Those turned in between Friday 11:20am and Friday 11:50am will be
given a 3-point deduction. Those turned in between Friday 11:50am and
Friday 12:30pm will be given a 4-pt deduction.
NO HOMEWORKS will be accepted at all after Friday 12:30pm.
Note that some of the problems have answers in the back of the textbook.
