  2. Analysis of binary and polytomous data
  3. Log-linear models
  4. Random and mixed effects models
  5. Smoothing and non-parametric regression
  6. Regression and classification trees
  7. Generalized Additive models

Textbook: lecture notes "Extending the Linear Model with R" by Julian Faraway will be availabe at Ackerman Union. 

Reference: Modern Applied Statistics with S by Venables and Ripley (2002). 4th ed. Springer.

Grading Policy:  Homework assignments (30%), one midterm (20%), final exam (50%)

Midterm: Wednesday Feb 12, 1-2pm (Subject to change).
