Office Hours:  Wednesday, 11-11:50, Friday 1:30-2:30.  Or, if you'd like to make an appointment, send email suggesting some available times.

TA: Jason Lenderman
Office Hours: Thursday, 10-10:50, 12-12:50.

Special Midterm office hours: Thursday, May 2, 2pm-3pm.  My office.  Check  the directions before trying to find it on your own.  (It's behind the computer lab where we usually meet.)

Homework Assignments are listed here.

Handouts:  Sometimes, materials given out in class can be easily put on-line.  Other times not.  If I can, I will post them on-line here.

Announcements:   Make sure you have an email address listed on URSA.  This is how we will communicate any changes in plans or other similar things.  (for example, changes or hints regarding homework.)

Datasets used in class will, whenever possible, be stored in this large directory.  Files with a ".dta" extension are Stata files and can't be read into R.  Datafiles with a "txt" or "dat" extension are text-files and can be read into R or a word-processor or spreadsheet editor.  (You might sometimes need to clean them up a bit before reading into R.)

Quiz solutions can be found here .

Software: We'll be using R, which is a moderately high-level statistical programming language. I'll try to cover the basics, but the help("topic") and help.search("topic") functions should become invaluable tools.
R is freeware, compatible with Mac and Unix and PC, and available here .

Forum : We have a virtual discussion section which both I and the TA will check daily.  You can use this to ask questions, try out ideas, etc.

Standard information about the structure or pacing of the course can be found in the syllabus or course outline.
