Mike, I think it is possible that the woman was telling the truth. If
my approximations are correct, 1% of all pregnancies could fall within
this range. Using the mean of 266 and SD of 16, 3 standard deviations
within the mean would equal 314 days or 99% of all pregnancies and 2
standard deviations would equal 298 days or 95% of all pregnancies.
Approximating 1% for each 4 days between 298 and 314 would put 310 days
at 98%. That means that 2% of all pregnancies are not within this range.
Since we are only interested in those pregnancies above this range, I
split the difference and said that 1% of all pregnancies are in this
range.

What do you think? Does this sound logical?
