I haven't been able to get a hold of the National Enquirer lately, but the only
thing that comes to mind are those late night infomercials. I saw one where
the guy claims that he can hypnotize you and improve your self confidence (or
something close to that). In the commercial, he hypnotizes crowds with just a
wave of the hand. People topple over, hypnotized, by when he passes his hand
over their eyes. Now, I don't know what the probability function of people
hypnotized are but it all seems hokey to me. Is this a valid example of an
extraordinary case?
