Heather
Corliss is currently a doctoral student in Epidemiology at UCLA. She
has volunteered for the WHISPERS project since 1998 and is grateful
for the opportunity to become more involved in lesbian and bisexual
women's health issues through the efforts of WHISPERS. Before
beginning doctoral studies, Heather was active in the Los Angeles
County Transgender Task Force and worked at Children's Hospital, Los
Angeles and the Gay and Lesbian adolescent Social Services. She is a
member and past Student Chair of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and
Transgender Caucus of the American Public Health Association. |

Maria
Kim, recruiter extraordinaire, has been volunteering for the WHISPERS
project since 1998. After a year of working as an AMERICORPS VISTA
volunteer, she is currently pursuing a career in multimedia graphic
design. In the past, Maria has worked as a chef in Maine, San
Francisco, and Los Angeles. |

Cynthia
Landes has been committed to the improvement of women and children's
health for the last 13 years. She has worked on numerous professional
and volunteer health projects in Santa Cruz and Los Angeles. She has a
particular (and vested) interest in lesbian and bisexual women's
health issues. Cynthia has worked with the WHISPERS project since
1998, when she was a graduate student in Public Health at UCLA.
Currently, Cynthia is busy developing and managing community based
health programs for low-income children and families in Los Angeles,
being a foster parent and committed partner, and pursuing her creative
dreams in ceramics. |
