Heather Corliss is currently a doctoral student in Epidemiology at UCLA. She has volunteered for the WHISPERS project since 1998 and is grateful for the opportunity to become more involved in lesbian and bisexual women's health issues through the efforts of WHISPERS. Before beginning doctoral studies, Heather was active in the Los Angeles County Transgender Task Force and worked at Children's Hospital, Los Angeles and the Gay and Lesbian adolescent Social Services. She is a member and past Student Chair of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Caucus of the American Public Health Association.

Maria Kim, recruiter extraordinaire, has been volunteering for the WHISPERS project since 1998. After a year of working as an AMERICORPS VISTA volunteer, she is currently pursuing a career in multimedia graphic design. In the past, Maria has worked as a chef in Maine, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

Cynthia Landes has been committed to the improvement of women and children's health for the last 13 years. She has worked on numerous professional and volunteer health projects in Santa Cruz and Los Angeles. She has a particular (and vested) interest in lesbian and bisexual women's health issues. Cynthia has worked with the WHISPERS project since 1998, when she was a graduate student in Public Health at UCLA. Currently, Cynthia is busy developing and managing community based health programs for low-income children and families in Los Angeles, being a foster parent and committed partner, and pursuing her creative dreams in ceramics.
